IIDEA Manufacture Components for Hallam University Racing Team

IIDEA were approached by Sheffield Hallam University Student Racing Team (SHU Racing) to manufacture some wheel hubs for their entry vehicle to the 2016 Formula Student Race event at very short notice. Formula Student is an annual event that currently takes place at the Silverstone Race Circuit in the week immediately following the British Grand Prix weekend. As a number of members of the IIDEA team past and present are ex-Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) graduates we were thrilled to be asked to take part in such a project! The hubs were manufactured to a design produced by the students from EN24T grade low alloy steel as this offers a good range of properties for the hubs.
