IIDEA Limited Manufacturing Components for the Oil and Gas Sector

IIDEA Engineering Supporting the Oil and Gas Sector

Oil and Gas exploration and production is a key driver of the global energy and engineering sectors as well as the UK and world economies. IIDEA Limited have extensive experience in the manufacture of small and medium size components for the offshore oil and gas exploration and production sectors. Many of our previous projects in this sector have been on development components and small batch production runs but we always welcome enquiries for larger batches as well as more complex components, assemblies and sub-assemblies.

In addition to full supply of components we are also able to offer sub-contract machining of customers own components and material in a wide range of materials. We specialise in fast turnaround of small batches and one-offs to help you meet your delivery on time. We have invested in people, processes and modern machining centres during the past few years to be able to machine a wide range of materials to high tolerances. Our design centre uses 3D CAD/CAM design (the latest generation of Solidworks) which is then fed through to our CNC machines.

IIDEA have considerable experience in first article inspection through complex cut-ups of components for the oil and gas and aerospace sectors and the manufacture of test pieces. We offer management of mechanical test programs from complex sample extraction through to test piece manufacture / preparation and the expediting of testing programs using through a number of local, accredited testing laboratories.

Test piece production from a customer’s free issue material includes:

  • Tensile Test Specimens (Round and Flat)

  • Charpy Impact Test Specimens

  • Hardness Testing

  • Fatigue Specimens

  • Fracture Toughness

  • Stress-Rupture

We are centrally based close to the intersection of two major UK motorways just minutes from the centres of Sheffield and Rotherham and around 30 minutes from Doncaster and Chesterfield.

We welcome enquiries to collaborate on projects in this area.
