David Campbell
Founding Director
David is a highly experienced business man and entrepreneur, having spent the past 30 years in as a senior partner in the top 5 international accounting firm Grant Thornton. A qualified accountant, David has worked in various capacities for the firm Grant Thornton since qualifying in 1983.

After appointment as a partner in 1991, David went on to be the business leader in Sheffield, before being asked to take increasingly more challenging roles covering the entire UK. David’s career in the UK culminated in his appointment to the main board of the UK firm, where he worked significantly on the merger of the firm with another national firm.
​
In 2010 David was asked if he would take up a challenge to run part of Grant Thornton’s business in South Africa, which involved him moving to Johannesburg. David completed a significant cultural transformation for GT in South Africa, and also found and secured a merger for the firm that effectively doubled its size.
​
In 2011, David had committed to starting IIDEA Limited alongside Martin Burnham and although David's inputs were limited at first, he returned to the UK in 2013 and now oversees finance, operations and strategy for IIDEA Ltd.
​
David is also on the board of engineering group Tinsley Bridge (where he is chairman), and sits on the board of Age UK Sheffield and on the management board of the Sheffield & District Society of Chartered Accountants. David is a well-known figure in business circles in Sheffield and further afield.
